What You'll Need:

4 ounces of dark chocolate, chopped

6 tablespoons of unsalted butter cut into smaller pieces

3/4 cup of sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 cup of flour
-
1/2 cup of semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
-
2 ounces to 4 soft caramels, cut into small bits

18 pecan halves
How To Prepare:

​Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Butter and flour an 8x8 square baking pan
-
In a medium saucepan, combine dark chocolate and butter. Melt over low heat, stirring frequently, until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat

Allow mixture to cool for about 3 minutes, then add sugar and vanilla and whisk until all combined.

Add eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each one. Mixture should be smooth and glossy :)

Stir in salt and flour until combined

Stir in chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed
-
Pour half of batter into pan and spread evenly
-
Get caramel pieces and spread evenly across surface of batter

Pour remaining batter over caramel layer

Take the pecan halves and create a heart shape for each brownie, overlapping the bottom tips and pressing slightly into the batter

Bake for 30-33 minutes

Cool brownies completely before cutting into squares

3 Cups Granulated Sugar

3 Egg Whites

1/2 Cup Water
-
1 Teaspoon Vanilla

1/2 Cup White Corn Syrup
-
1 Cup Pecans, broken or halved
-
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
How To Prepare:

Put sugar, syrup, and water in pan and boil.

Meanwhile, beat egg whites and salt until stiff.

Cook syrup mixture to soft ball stage.

When done, very slowly add 1 cup of mixture to egg whites.

Continue cooking remainder of syrup to hard boil stage.

Slowly pour in egg white mixture. Continue beating until stiff.

Add vanilla and beat with wooden spoon until candy loses its gloss.

Add pecans and put on wax paper. Let sit for 5 minutes then enjoy!
